Age of Ambition PDF Released to Backers

Good news, everyone! A few minutes ago we released the Age of Ambition core rulebook PDF to backers.
You should receive an email from DriveThruRPG containing a link to download the book. If you haven't received the link by tomorrow morning, please message us and we will make sure to resolve the issue.
The core rulebook will be released to the general public in the upcoming days.
Found a typo or other error?
More eyes are always better than just a few! If you find a typo or other error in the PDF, please let us know using the contact page on our website.
We will be collecting error reports and making fixes until May 26th. On May 28th, we will release the final corrected version of the PDF. It is this corrected file that we will send to the printers.
Character & Lifepath Sheets!
Character sheets and a Lifepath worksheet are available from our website.
A Roll20 character sheet is also now available. Just log into Roll20, create a new campaign and select Age of Ambition from the character sheet list.
Progress Report
We'll discuss this in greater detail in the upcoming May Update, but here's a quick look at the progress behind the scenes:
- Core Rulebook: PDF released to backers. Will be released to the general public in the upcoming days.
- Character Sheets: Released to our website and Roll20.
- Consequence Cards: Done. Queued for release in the upcoming weeks.
- GM Screen Inserts: Digital files complete. Printing proof ordered.
- Poster Map: Digital files complete. Printing proof ordered.
- Deluxe Box: A printing proof of the physical box has been ordered.
- Bestiary: Currently in art direction.
- Campaign Options: Currently in layout.
- Character Options: Currently being written.
- Everything Else: Still only in the outline stage.
April Update: Missing Surveys & Core Rulebook Progress

Hello, loyal backers! We hope that you and your families are safe in these troubling times.
If you've been following us on Twitter or Facebook, you know that the Age of Ambition core rulebook is nearing completion. The PDF is on track for release later this month. We'll send out a second Kickstarter update just before the PDF goes live.
Missing Surveys
We will be locking surveys and charging shipping one week from today, on April 9. There are currently 12 backers who haven't completed their surveys. If you don't see your name on the list below, you're good. If you do see your name, please complete your survey ASAP.

Age of Ambition Progress
- The Age of Ambition core rulebook PDF is almost finished. All that remains is to insert the last few art pieces and page references. There are currently 4 active art commissions and 4 commissions waiting in the queue. Once these final pieces are complete, we'll release the PDF.
- The Consequence Cards are complete and waiting to be released after the core rulebook. The GM Screen Inserts are almost complete, and only waiting on their final printing proof. However, the printer that handles the cards, screen inserts and poster map is currently shuttered due to COVID-19. We do not know when it will reopen, but we'll finish the printing proofs just as soon as we are able.
- The Player Options, Campaign Options and Bestiary supplements are all in various stages of being written. Finishing them is next on our agenda once the core rulebook has been released.
- The three adventures - Out of Shackles, Time Forgot and Rise to Power - have been outlined and will be written after the three supplements are complete.

March Update: Surveys Sent

Hello friends, fans and gaming family!
Surveys were sent out this afternoon. Please fill yours out ASAP. Doing so is necessary to fulfill your rewards. If you have not received a survey by tomorrow, please let us know and we'll make sure that you receive one.
If you have already completed your survey and have ordered add-ons, yours will be in the first wave of add-on PDFs sent out tonight. We'll send out the next wave on Tuesday, and then another wave every few days.
Physical add-ons will ship with the completed game.
Age of Ambition Progress
For the past two weeks plus, we've been hard at work on Age of Ambition. Everything is currently progressing on schedule. If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, you will have already seen a couple two-page spreads, complete with art. Here is where things currently stand:
- We've completed the preliminary layout of the core rulebook and are roughly 45% of the way through its final layout (by page count). With the expanded background stretch goal, the book comes to 320 pages.
- We currently have 6 active art commissions from 3 artists. There are 13 pieces of art that still need to be commissioned after the current ones are completed.
- The GM Screen Inserts and Consequence Cards have been laid out and printing proofs have been ordered. If the proofs end up looking good, they will be queued for release after the core rulebook.
- The character sheet and lifepath sheet have both been completed and are available for download.
- Writing for the Campaign Options, Bestiary and Character Options supplements has started, but progress will admittedly be slow until after we release the core rulebook PDF.
- The three unlocked adventures only exist in outline form at the moment. Writing on them will begin after the three aforementioned supplements are completed.
Age of Ambition is Funded!

We’ve really been blown away by the amount of support that you've shown us. This is one of our most successful Kickstarters ever. You are all awesome! And I know we say this a bunch, but we really couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you from all of us at Tab Creations!
As you likely know by now, the funding period ended a few moments ago with the final pledge total of $12,507! This means that not only have we been fully funded, but we met each and every stretch goal for the campaign.
We’re really excited about this, but this isn’t our first Kickstarter. We know that for us, now that the funding period is over, it’s time to buckle down and continue pushing this game through its final stages of production. We’re proud to say that we have never been late sending backers their rewards, and we have no intention of starting now!
Future Updates
We’re planning on sending out Kickstarter updates to everyone about once a month, this way we can keep all of our backers informed about the game’s progress. If you’d like to receive updates more frequently than that, we highly encourage you to follow us on one of the following social networks. We will make updates to these pages about once a week, giving people the latest news about the game.
You can also keep us with us, or discuss our game, through our development blog or on our forums. Additionally, we have a Patreon campaign if you are interested in helping support future releases for our various game lines.
The Next Couple Weeks
It usually takes Kickstarter about two to three weeks to process pledges and release the funds. We plan to send out the first monthly update at that time. It will include information on the state of Age of Ambition and the unlocked extras, as well as some insight into our publication process. Until then, here’s what you can expect from us:
- We have chosen BackerKit as our pledge manager. It should go live in the next couple days in order to process preorders and add-ons.
- This is, however, our first time using a pledge manager. We want to send out the PDF add-ons as soon as possible and are investigating the best way to do this. We should know something more concrete by the time the pledges process.
- Meanwhile, we will continue to commission art and will regularly post previews to our Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as to our blog.
- Finally, the official Age of Ambition character sheet has recently been completed. We will be updating the Quick-Start to include PDF character sheets for each of the pregens.
60 Hours to Go!

We're overwhelmed by the support you've shown us! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and encouragement throughout the month. Since the last post, we've unlocked Rise to Power, the Patreon Challenge stretch goal! We’ve topped 325% of the original funding goal, and are well on our way to unlocking the final stretch goals. This is going to be an incredible game!
Meanwhile, we’re already hard at work behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and timely production and fulfillment process. We’re contacting artists, outlining the last of the unlocked supplements and making improvements to the text based on backer feedback. This will be the sixth Kickstarter we’ve fulfilled, and I’m proud to say that we haven’t been late delivering rewards yet.
