Greetings from Tab Creations!

In 2013, Tab Creations was researching Indian culture and history for our then in development tabletop rpg, Against the Dark Yogi, and we came across mentions of Ganjifa cards.  The game intrigued us and we began to search for a source to purchase these cards but could not find one.  The artform, hand-painted cards on hand-made paper was rapidly disappearing and there didn’t seem to have been any general printing in decades.  It was then that we launched our first kickstarter project and with the help of more than 400 backers, produced the first general printing of Mughal Ganjifa the world had seen in over half a century.

That printing has since sold out and we at Tab Creations are faced with a dilemma. Is there a market for more of these historic and culturally significant cards? Are there still people out there who want to keep this dying artform alive?  Those are the questions we hope to answer with this project, do people still want to keep these cards available?

The deck we printed in 2013 used original art from an Indian artist but was based on a historic 16th century deck.  We will continue the trend of keeping the deck as historically accurate as possible while keeping it affordable for those wanting to own this vanishing piece of history.

Ganjifa was the very first kickstarter project and commercial product from Tab Creations and we were quite the beginner to the game manufacturing process. Now, with 7 successful projects under our belt and many, many other products released independently, we have learned a lot and this time around we want to make Ganjifa even better than before. With higher quality materials and packaging as well as four additional and unique games to play with Mughal Ganjifa.

It’s been a little over a year since the Age of Ambition Kickstarter. In the past you have supported our projects, and for that we are extremely grateful. Thank you so much!

Now we would like to invite you to join our latest Kickstarter effort: Jovian Whispers for Shadows Over Sol. It is a campaign and sourcebook that follows up on the mystery of the Jupiter Group Incident, in which all four Jovian colonies went suddenly and inexplicably silent.

No one knows the cause of this mysterious event, but somewhere in the dark and ruined colonies of Jupiter the Insurrection Virus uses its clanking machines to plot the downfall of all humanity...

All Rewards Sent!

On October 22nd, the final few Age of Ambition rewards were mailed out. If you live in the United States and are still waiting a physical reward, you should should receive yours very soon. If you live elsewhere in the world, your rewards are likely still en route, but are on the way.

If two weeks from now your reward has not yet been delivered, please contact us and we will look into the matter to make sure you receive it.

The Future of Age of Ambition 

If you like Age of Ambition and want to see more support in the future, with published adventures and other supplements, you should check out our Patreon!

Basically, every three months we publish an adventure or other short supplement. All of our Patreon backers get both a PDF and an “at cost” print copy. Later we make these supplements available on DriveThruRPG, but Patreon backers get them first and at a lower price point.

This month's reward has already been released, but in January will be releasing the next full-sized Age of Ambition scenario. (Meanwhile, look for Age of Ambition: The Clockwork Plot on DriveThruRPG and for Age of Ambition: The Vasjan Heresy the week after next.)

This is how we plan to fund future supplements for our game lines, because it helps us gauge interest in different concepts, and gives us a better estimate on what our final production budget should be. This also means we can afford to pay our artists, writers and editors a fair wage for their work.

Hello Age of Ambition backers!

The good news is that the majority of the Deluxe Box rewards have now been sent out, and we've already started to hear from backers who have received them. 

We're so excited to get this game into your hands! And look forward to reading your comments and reviews in social media and online forums!

The less good news is that the shipment of books we received from the printer was several copies short of what we ordered. We've already contacted them and those missing books are on the way, but it means that it will be another couple weeks until we can send out the final three copies of the Deluxe Box. We're sorry for the delay.

As a result, this will not be the final Kickstarter update. We'll post again in a few weeks, once the last three copies have been sent out.

Hello Age of Ambition backers!

Things have been going well. Since the last update we've released Will to Power. And Time Forgot will be released tonight! These are the final two adventures unlocked by the Kickstarter, meaning that after tonight you should have every unlocked PDF in your hands (er... in your computer).

Today we are also placing orders for the Deluxe Box backers. That means all of the individual components will be sent to us, then we'll sort them into each box and those boxes will go out by mail to backers all around the world!

Next month is likely to be our final progress update. By then we hope to report that all rewards have been sent out, and that many of you will already have the book in your hands.
